Ask Us – the ECDS team is here to help
Before contacting the Librarian team, try out the following common questions.
Why am I using ECDS?
ECDS supports the sharing of resources among participating organizations. The platform provides discovery service and enables you to find relevant content easily. It enhances your experience by providing modern user interface.
What am I searching?
Using a single search query, ECDS lets you search across merged information resources from libraries and knowledge centers of collaborating organizations. You can search for various items, including books, journals, full-text journal articles, and databases with links to their content.
What will I find?
You can search and discover the collections that range from country-specific strategies, research publications, gray literature, reference materials, government documentation and much more. Resources are available in English and local languages.
Can I check out a physical item?
If you are a member of a library that has the item, you can check out the item. ECDS informs you the location of a library where the item is available. Check it out if the library has an inter-library loan arrangement with your institution and if it could be delivered to you.
Can I get access into electronic databases?
Some ECDS libraries make their specialized databases available only to library members. Your search on ECDS may produce direct links to articles and other resources in these databases. To access the resources, you may first be required to log in with a valid library membership. But, open access multidisciplinary specialist databases allow you to make your search and get the information you are looking for.
Can I search ECDS at my local library?
You may have to log in with a valid library membership.
How can we be a partner’s institute?
To be a partner, send us official letter and your library system resource links via email.
